Does my cat need to be vacinated?

Unlike a boarding cattery your cat is not likely to come into contact with other cats unless you wish them to go outside so they do not need to be vacinated, however as we may be looking after more than one cat at a time and visiting multiple homes it is recommended that for your cat's health that they have their regular vacinations.

Does my cat need to be neutered?

Again as your cat will be staying in your own home there is no necessity for them to be neutered if you wish us to look after them.

What about worming and de-fleaing?

Whilst your cat will be staying at home we do recommend that your cat has regular flea and worm treatments as we may be visiting more than one home during the time we look after your cat.  This helps us to minimize the risk of spreading fleas around especially during the summer months.

Do I need Pet Insurance?

It is your choice as to whether or not you wish to insure your pet but you might wish to do so for your own peace of mind.  Please note tht should your pet require veterinary treatment whilst you are away we will request that your vet sends any bills/invoices to you and insurance may help with these.

What happens if my cat takes ill/needs veterinary treatment?

We will ask you to provide us with your cat's veterinary provider and ask you to sign a waiver form allowing us to authorise any treatment needed (except euthanasia).  If your cat takes ill whilst you are away we will make every effort to contact you and ask for your permission to take the cat to the vets before doing so.  If for whatever reason we cannot contact you and we deem it to be an emergency we will take the cat to your specified vet and continue to try and contact you afterwards.  Please note that we will not cover the cost of vets bills but ask your vet to invoice you directly for any treatment needed this is why we recommend insurance for these costs.  If your vet requests that we make payment on your behalf you agree to reimburse us in full for any expenses we incur in obtaining care for your cat on your return.  This also applies to any other small animals we may be looking after for you.

Do I need to provide anything?

We ask you to leave enough of your cat's regular food to cover the entirity of our visits plus enough to cover a few extra days in case you have a delay in returning.  Similarly we ask you to provide enough cat litter to cover the duration especially if you wish for your cats to remain inside for the duration of your holiday.  If we find it necessary to buy more supplies for your cat then you agree to reimburse us for any expenses we incur on your return.   This also applies to any other small animals we may be looking after for you and we ask that you leave sufficent food/bedding for the duration of your holiday.

Does my cat need to stay indoors while I'm away?

No, but you may prefer for your own peace of mind that your cat is kept inside for the duration of your time away.  If you have a cat flap or wish your pet to go outside then we would recommend that you request 2 visits a day so that we are more likely to see your cat and can keep you updated.

How can I stay updated?

We will contact you either by email or text message to let you know that everything is okay.  This can be daily or on agreed days of your holiday as you prefer.  We will only phone you in an emergancy unless you specify that you wish us to contact you this way.

Can you look after my dog?

Sorry but we are not covered by our insurance to look after or walk dogs but we can recommend someone to you.

Can you look after reptiles?

Sorry but due to the specialised nature of the care of reptiles we are not able to offer to look after them (this includes all forms of lizards, bearded dragons, snakes, turantulas and insects or other animal that falls into this category).
